The trail takes you through lush forests, open meadows and rugged mountain terrain, gradually ascending into the remote Dagala region.

Day 1: Thimphu – Geynekha – Gur
Your adventure begins with a scenic drive from Thimphu to Geynekha Village, where the trek starts. The trail passes through terraced farmland and traditional villages before entering beautiful forests of blue pine, oak and rhododendron.
As you climb higher, the landscape opens into alpine meadows with views of the surrounding mountains. Continue towards Gur, your first campsite.
Trekking: Approximately 5–6 hours
Overnight: Gur Camp
Day 2: Gur – Labatama
After breakfast, continue through rugged mountain terrain and beautiful alpine vegetation. The trail gradually climbs through yak pastures, with spectacular views of the surrounding Himalayan peaks.
As you approach Labatama, several beautiful high-altitude lakes appear along the trail. Settle into camp and enjoy the peaceful mountain surroundings.
Trekking: Approximately 5–6 hours
Overnight: Labatama Camp
Day 3: Labatama – Panka
Today is one of the highlights of the trek. Explore the alpine landscape around Labatama before continuing towards Panka.
The trail crosses several high ridges and mountain passes, offering panoramic views of the Himalayas. If the weather is clear, you may see some of Bhutan’s magnificent snow-capped peaks.
Trekking: Approximately 5–6 hours
Overnight: Panka Camp
Day 4: Panka – Tsheregang
Continue across high mountain ridges and remote alpine terrain. The trail offers spectacular views of the surrounding mountains and valleys, with numerous mountain lakes scattered across the landscape.
After a rewarding day of trekking, descend gradually towards Tsheregang, where you will spend the night.
Trekking: Approximately 6–7 hours
Overnight: Tsheregang Camp
Day 5: Tsheregang – Chamgang
The trail gradually descends through alpine meadows and beautiful forests as you make your way towards lower elevations. The landscape becomes greener as you leave the high mountain environment behind.
Continue through peaceful forests and countryside before reaching Chamgang, a traditional village south of Thimphu.
Trekking: Approximately 5–6 hours
Overnight: Chamgang / Thimphu
Day 6: Chamgang – Thimphu
After breakfast, complete the final section of the trek and transfer back to Thimphu. Enjoy a well-deserved rest and celebrate the completion of your Dagala Thousand Lakes adventure.
