The Bumdra Trek is a beautiful short Himalayan adventure that combines breathtaking mountain scenery, peaceful forests and a unique camping experience above the Paro Valley. The trail begins near the historic monasteries of Paro and climbs through pine and rhododendron forests to the high-altitude Bumdra region.

Day 1: Sang Choekhor Monastery – Bumdra
Your adventure begins with a drive from Paro to Sang Choekhor Monastery, where the trek starts. The trail climbs gradually through beautiful pine and rhododendron forests, with occasional views across the Paro Valley.
Continue uphill towards Bumdra, passing through peaceful woodland and open mountain landscapes. As you reach the high-altitude campsite, enjoy spectacular panoramic views of the Himalayan peaks and surrounding valleys. Spend the evening relaxing around camp and, weather permitting, admire the incredible night sky.
Trekking: Approximately 5–6 hours
Overnight: Bumdra Camp
Day 2: Bumdra – Sang Choekhor Monastery – Paro
Wake up to breathtaking views of the mountains before beginning the descent. The trail winds through forests and meadows, offering beautiful views of the Paro Valley along the way.
Continue towards Sang Choekhor Monastery, passing through the peaceful Bhutanese countryside. After completing the trek, meet your vehicle and return to Paro.
